Celebrating Disability Pride Month

Did you know that July is Disability Pride Month? It marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), passed on July 26, 1990, which prohibited discrimination based on disability and helped break down societal barriers to inclusion.
Disability Pride Month celebrates the talents and contributions of people with disabilities, seeks to end the stigma of disability, and champions equal opportunities for all.

ARIASE Honors David Kane and Partnership with Sargent Center

Lisa C. Colwell, Ed.D., President of ARIASE, presented a plaque and bench to our President and CEO, David A. Kane, J.D., Esq., commemorating the longstanding support between the two organizations. In 2012, the Sargent Center’s Regional Resource Center was constructed as a place for education professionals to convene and exchange knowledge. Over the years, ARIASE has regularly utilized the Regional Resource Center for their membership meetings, mentoring sessions, and other events. Thank you to ARIASE for this special recognition and for our ongoing partnership!
