The Sargent Center services students from sending public school districts in Rhode Island and surrounding areas in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
The Sargent Center Day School Programs offer fully-certified placements for children 3 to 22 years who are challenged with severe learning, physical, behavioral, and medical disabilities often related to neurological impairment, such as autism and seizure disorders as well as behavioral issues. The educational programs combine rehabilitation with educational expertise to help children make progress in academics and life skills.
Our services to children pre-k to young adults aged 22 through Day School Programs include:
- Early Childhood (Pre-K) Program: Offers learning opportunities that address the developmental level of every child by engaging them in activities that encourage social interactions with a hands-on approach.
- Neuro-Rehabilitation Program: Serves children and young adults who have sustained brain injuries, due to automobile accidents, falls, strokes, brain aneurysms, or other diseases.
- Expanded Engagement/Post Secondary Prep Program: Offers a comprehensive, transitional model of care that empowers students with learning and social/emotional/behavioral differences to achieve success.
- The Clinical/Hospital Step Down Program: Offers a specialized school program for students who are having difficulty coping with the demands of their classroom due to social, emotional, and behavioral health issues.
Sargent Center also offers comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation Services, individual and group Outpatient Services to improve skills in children with varying degrees of disabling conditions, and Consultant Services to school departments, hospitals, and health care organizations.
