The Sargent Center offers rewarding career opportunities for physical and occupational therapists, social workers, speech and language pathologists, and special education teachers. Smaller caseloads and Sargent’s interdisciplinary team approach allows for greater flexibility in designing Education Plans and more one-on-one interaction with students. Current Openings
  • Special Educator: Emphasis on students with moderate to severe neurological disabilities (autism spectrum disorder, seizure disorder and brain injury). Strong interdisciplinary team. Training provided in behavior management. RI teacher certification is required.

  • Teacher's Aide: 30 hours per week position to work with students with developmental disabilities. Strong behavioral background preferred. Certificate of training or associate's degree required. A benefits package is included.

  • Social Worker: Work with pediatric caseload in day school program and specialty clinics. Emphasis on neurological disability including autism spectrum disorder, seizure disorder and brain injury. Duties include social history, family consultation, treatment planning with interdisciplinary team, individual and group therapy. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and families is preferred. MSW required. School certification required.

  • School Psychologist: Conduct initial psychological evaluations and re-evaluations to assess intelligence, personality, educational development, perception and sensory motor skills and/or mental health/behavioral disorders of referred students as indicated.

  • Speech Language Pathologist: Supports students with disabilities within a small group and 1:1 setting, providing direct therapy. The Speech and Language therapist works collaboratively with the teachers, teaching assistants, related service providers, and job coaches, to provide direct therapy at the student’s appropriate level, and ensure student access to academics, peers, and functional communication.

  • Physical Education Teacher /Adaptive Physical Educator: Emphasis on students with moderate to severe neurological disabilities (autism spectrum disorder, seizure disorder and brain injury). Strong interdisciplinary team. Training provided in behavior management. RI teacher certification is required.
