Educational Programs & Services

Teach and StudentThe Sargent Center services students from sending public school districts in Rhode Island and surrounding Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

Sargent Center offers services to children pre-k to young adults age 22 through its School Programs including: Pediatric Program, Brain Injury Neuro-Rehabilitation Program, Expanded Engagement/Post Secondary Prep Program, and Clinical/Hospital Step Down Program.

The Sargent Center School Programs offer fully certified Day School placements for children 3 to 22 years who are challenged with severe learning, physical, behavioral and medical disabilities often related to neurological impairment, such as autism and seizure disorders as well as behavioral issues. The educational programs combine rehabilitation with educational expertise to help children make progress in academics and life skills.

The Educational Programs also offer comprehensive Diagnostic & Evaluation Services as well as individual and group Outpatient Services to improve skills in children with varying degrees of disabling conditions.

The Brain Injury Neuro-Rehabilitation Program serves children and young adults who have sustained brain injuries, due to automobile accidents, falls, strokes, brain aneurysms or other diseases. The Day Treatment Program provides intensive medical rehabilitation and education with the goal of returning clients to school or work. The program also offers comprehensive evaluation services and outpatient services, including speech, occupational, and physical therapy.

Sargent Center Education Programs also offers Consultant Services to school departments, hospitals, and health care organizations and Education and Community Outreach Programs.
