Assistive Technology Services

Assistive TechnologyAssistive Technology allows students to communicate, learn, access and navigate their environment, and accomplish educational and daily living tasks, with increased independence. We offer comprehensive  technology assessments, consultations, and training sessions for staff members and families to ensure they can effectively support students both in school, in their community, and at home.

Selecting the appropriate technology to fulfill a student’s needs demands clinical expertise, insight into the individual’s functional abilities, and access to a range of tools. An Assistive Technology Evaluation is essential in identifying the most appropriate tool for individual needs and is customized to address the distinct needs of each student. This evaluation process helps Individual Education Plan (IEP) teams determine the best supports aligned with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Act) requirements for curriculum access.

A licensed professional performs the Assistive Technology Evaluation and provides a comprehensive report which should include recommendations for accommodations, modifications, technology, and services tailored to the individual’s strengths and needs. Our expert staff consists of certified Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and RESNA certified Assistive Technology Professionals.
