Philosophy
In an educational setting, Physical Therapists (PTs) provide therapeutic interventions to students with physical limitations that may impact their ability to fully participate in all school-related activities. The Physical Therapists collaborate with the Individual Education Plan (IEP) team, which includes families and outside therapists, to aid students with mobility, positioning, and equipment requirements. Our PT provides recommendations and support in implementing accommodations necessary for students with physical disabilities to engage in all school activities.
Approach
Physical Therapy goals are set to address any strength, balance, coordination, and mobility impairments aiming to improve the student's ability to perform functional tasks and reach educational milestones. Physical Therapy plans include educating teachers, staff, and families on the student’s program for optimal follow-through and carry-over.
