For Adolescents
The brain injury day treatment program for adolescents offers our full complement of medical rehabilitation services, however our clinicians understand that although an adolescent's medical needs are similar to adults, their emotional and educational needs are quite different.
Our program, the only one of its kind in the state, is the next phase of care after an in-patient stay and is designed to bridge the gap between medical care and the return to school.
In addition to intensive physical, occupational, speech and cognitive therapy, academic instruction is also provided. Sargent works with schools to acquire specific curriculum and texts so that students are able to return to their own community school as close to their previously achieved grade level as possible. The program also addresses behavioral issues, social interaction and adjustment and re-entry into the community.
